Worshipful Joe Marlan Rough 1946-2021

The Fraternity lost a great Man and Mason this past Sunday. Worshipful Brother Joe Marlan Rough has passed to the celestial lodge above and laid down his working tools of life at the age of 74. Bro. Joe was Past Master of Triangle Lodge #548 and Lawton Lodge #183 as well as past Secretary of our lodge, serving 9 years in that position. Joe attained the distinction of a Scottish Rite 32°, KCCH and was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy. We are so grateful for the time we had with our dear Brother and the light he brought to our lives. He worked with and mentored so many Masons over the last 15 years and news of his passing has been met with an outpouring of sympathy and respect from the Craft here in Lawton and around the state and country, as he taught many of our Military Masons that came through Lawton and landed at our Lodge. Brother Joe never turned away from the request of a new Mason to learn our categorical lectures and so many Brothers had a strong relationship with Joe through those experiences. We will all miss our Dear Worshipful Brother and will cherish his memory in hearts, forever and forever. Services for Worshipful Brother Joe Marlan Rough, will be at Becker Rabon Funeral Home in Lawton on Monday March 29th at 1130am, graveside Masonic Rites will follow at the National Veteran’s Cemetery at Elgin, OK. Viewing will be Saturday and Sunday 1-3pm
